Established as a publications committee in 1964, Canterbury University Press has operated as a full-time publisher since 1991, producing around a dozen new books each year. Canterbury University Press publishes a wide range of titles both for the academic and general market, and has recognised expertise in natural history, marine biology, and New Zealand and Pacific history.
